Lease Site Assignment

Lease assignments can be complex, and in addition to filling out the lease assignment form, the proposed new lease holder must submit to a credit check and provide a brief statement including their background and their proposed operations on the lease. Typically, in an "Assignment and Assumption" document, approved by the City Attorney must also be submitted to finalize a lease transfer.

All lease assignments require approval by the Morro Bay City Council and must be agendized for a regular City Council meeting. If you have questions about the forms, fees or documentation required, please contact the Harbor Department.
