General Plan / Local Coastal Plan - Plan Morro Bay
2021 General Plan and Local Coastal Plan (Plan Morro Bay) - certified
- On May 25, 2021 the City Council adopted Plan Morro Bay which is a comprehensive update of the City's 1988 General Plan and 1984 LCP (Coastal Land Use Plan). On August 12, 2021, the California Coastal Commission voted unanimously to certify the Coastal Land Use Plan (LUP) via LCP Amendment #LCP-3-MRB-21-0047-1.
- A comprehensive update of the Zoning Code is currently in draft form and anticipated to be brought forward for adoption hearings in late 2021. For more information, visit the Plan Morro Bay website at www.morrobayca.gov/planmb.

Housing Element Annual Progress Reports
Each jurisdiction is required to create an annual report on the status and progress in implementing the housing element of its general plan using forms and definitions adopted by HCD. Annual reports are due annually on or before April 1 for the previous calendar year. Past annual reports for the City are included below:
