Friends of the Morro Bay Fire Department

About the Organization
The Friends of the MBFD is a nonprofit community group established to help improve fire and emergency services in Morro Bay. Since there establishment in 2004, the Friends have been active in communicating fire issues to the community and raising funds to purchase new equipment. To date, the Friends of the Morro Bay Fire Department ,with grant assistance from the Hoag Family Foundation, have donated nearly $100,000 to the Fire Department for radios, automatic external defibrillators, and a rescue vehicle.

This active group of concerned citizens also established an endowment, with proceeds from the sale of bricks for the new fire station. The Chief can use a portion of the funds from this endowment to assist reserve firefighters in funding a portion of a paramedic program or the Firefighter I Academy.
