In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the City of Morro Bay Engineering Division is implementing the following revised Encroachment Permit, Final Map and other Public Works Application and Submittal procedures to protect the health and safety of the public and City employees.
Counter questions for engineering standards or general questions will be responded to via phone or email (staff directory).
Blanket Encroachment Permit Application (Outdoor Dining/Sales)
The Blanket Encroachment Permit application is used to allow temporary uses of public outdoor dining or sales on public property to assist local businesses to meet social distancing requirements.
About the Department
Please note that public counter hours for the Public Works Department are currently suspended during the County Shelter at Home Order in light of the coronavirus. However, in order to provide the public with continuity of service while protecting both you and our employees, the Department remains open for business.
Limited staffing will be available. For assistance in relation to Public Works services, please call (805) 772-6261 or visit the City's website for Department contact information. You can contact staff by phone, email, and regular mail, though please excuse any delays in response. Revised Encroachment Permit, Final Map and Other Public Works Application and Submittal Procedures
In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the City of Morro Bay Engineering Division is implementing the following revised Encroachment Permit, Final Map and other Public Works Application and Submittal procedures to protect the health and safety of the public and City employees.
New Applications and Plan Submittals:
- Encroachment Permits: Download and complete application, Encroachment Permit Application .For a list of encroachment permit requirements view the Working within the City right-of-way document. Submit all additional required documents.
- Final & Parcel Map Checklist: Download and complete the checklist, Final & Parcel Map Checklist. Submit with required documents and plans. Requirements and preparation of Final & Parcel Map, can be found at the City of Morro Bay Municipal Code Title 16-Subdivisions: https://library.municode.com/ca/morro_bay/codes/code_of_ordinances
- Coordinate applications, documents and Plans with the Pamela Newman, Engineering Division via email at pnewman@morrobayca.gov or phone (805) 772-6215
- Submittal will be processed, and applicant will be notified of permit fees due
- Permit fee paid via credit card by phone or mail, or slide check under Department door
- Once application is deemed complete, staff will notify the applicant the timeline for permit issuance
- Approved plans/permit will be emailed as PDF with hard copy to be mailed (no change in process)
- Permitee to return signed permit.
